Shunya is based in Northern New South Wales, the Kirtan capital of Australia, and indeed he is a respected figure in that world, organising House of Bliss community chanting in Mullumbimby for a decade before eventually moving out from behind the mixing desk to offer his own concerts.
With his rich, soulful voice and lush guitar playing, Shunya holds a reassuring space and he’s looking forward to sharing a whole bunch of simple but beautiful mantras and songs.
More recently Shunya has been playing bass in the Lulu and Mischka band at their Hearts Wide Open retreat and holding the center for Rasa Shala kirtan in Murwillumbah, so he’s been keeping good company and just about keeping the prana spark alive through the severe Australian lockdowns and catastrophic flooding that wiped Lismore off the map,
Shunya arrives in Brighton with gratitude and humility. In this time of transition we’re all here supporting each other, anchoring in the new Earth, so come along and sing, let the unique healing vibration of your voice be heard at this afternoon soiree at Anahata.
